It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and after that Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was removed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the last Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.
