A cleric has shared the moment when a man tried to force his way into his city synagogue during a lethal incident, saying "I saw evil, I saw hate".

The cleric mentioned that he and others held the gateways of Heaton Park synagogue as the attacker was "forcing the entrances, throwing large plant pots, trying everything he could to get in".

Applauding the quick-thinking of those at the worship center, he remarked: "I observed true heroism, I must declare, and people who ran to assist fellow members rather than running away. It was amazing."

Adrian Daulby, 53, and A 66-year-old man, both died after the individual struck people and assaulted a person on that day.
