Trevoh Chalobah Set to Replace Marc Guehi in England National Team
The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st duo of siblings to earn caps for the national team.
Trevoh Chalobah is expected to join up with the England squad to fill in for unavailable Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is scheduled to join the squad for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has still not been made public.
The Three Lions have already qualified for next summer's World Cup.
Chalobah received his initial invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the next October international break.
Tuchel has been an key figure in Chalobah's career, having given him his Chelsea debut in 2021.
Chalobah has featured in almost every fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the team in third place in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the European competition.
Guehi picked up a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League success over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are likely to be other inclusions to the squad. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will withdraw from the England setup.
