Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police stated they were contacted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Police then found multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police state initial examinations show the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.

An important representative said the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
